Found Pavlova and High Tea at Fluff Meringues & More in Austin

Dear Australian and New Zealander expats who are residing or visiting Austin, Texas – there is just ONE place that sells pavlova. It’s a new shop that opened up early 2019 on Burnet Road. Fluff Meringues & More is a modern bakery that sells an assortment of meringues and other afternoon tea delicacies. It’s the perfect dessert place to go to after eating lunch or dinner across the street from Picnik and Pinthouse Pizza.

I got so excited when I saw this shop open. Besides the fact that they have pavlovas, but they also use local eggs, and their sugar is from pure sugar cane. In addition to your OG meringue, they have other flavors too such as Peach Cobbler, Pina Colada, Blueberry Lemon Drop, and Guava Have It.

Their pavlova can a little bit more sugary than back in OZ because of the topping options they provide. Below is my custom personal pavlova order when I go there $13:

  1. Choose your shell
    • Cee’s Favorite: VANILLA
    • Other options: Lemon Curd, Greek Yogurt, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Pastry Cream, Vanilla Bean Pastry Cream, Seasonal
  2. Choose your filling
    • Cee’s Favorite: PASSIONFRUIT MOUSSE
    • Other options: Lemon Curd, Greek Yogurt, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Pastry Cream, Vanilla Bean Pastry Cream, Seasonal
  3. Choose up to 2 toppings
    • Cee’s Favorite: SEASONAL FRUITS (Strawberries & Blueberries) & WHIPPED CREAM
    • Other options: Coconut, Pecans, Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios
  4. Choose a drizzle
    • Cee’s Favorite: CREME ANGLAISE
    • Other options: Ginger Caramel, Dark Chocolate, Balsamic Razzleberry, Strawberry

Overall, I am so pleased there is a taste of Sydney here in Austin. It warms my heart. Though if I could offer any suggestion to the owner, I wish they included slices of kiwi as part of their seasonal fruits. Also, it would be even more authentic (though I know it’s pricey), but to also serve real passionfruit on top of the pavlova. That would just be oh so perfect.

Beverages:

They have a large selection of tea from The Tea Palace London to go along with their delicate treats. Check out their tea menu.

For caffeine lovers, they have a standard menu of coffee too. For all you booze lovers, they have a small selection of alcohol, but really, that’s all you need when there’s a bunch of desserts in front of you! They have prosecco and wine, etc.

Pastries:

All of their pastries are amazing and can be bought together to create a high tea display! If you are having a brunch or afternoon party, I would totally recommend to stop by here, and grab a bunch of treats, and set it up at home!

Interior:

I love their clean and modern interior display. There are a lot of 2-seaters, but you can always combine the tables for larger parties. The tables are clean and white, which is pretty Instagramable when you stop by during the day.

Parking note:

From the main road, it seems like there isn’t any parking, but there is! There is a lot of parking spaces in the parking lot behind the building. Also, they have a front and back door.

Below is a quick Google map on how to get to Fluff Meringues & More and this dessert bar has been added to my Austin Collection on Yelp for easy access on the go!
