It’s New Year’s Eve, and I am so excited to dive into a Christmas present I gifted myself and for two of my close friends. After popping into HMart to grab a Hazelnut Latte from Tous Les Jours and an almond croissant, I am ready to face this exercise head-on.
Before opening this workbook, I take a deep breath, as I am about to reflect throughout the past year – the good and bad. And will have to truly look deep within myself as to what I want to make out of 2020.
I love this quote that Aileen, the author of this workbook, has inserted, “One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth.” It speaks to be so loud and clear – that it makes me want to close out the year.
In 2019, I had many accomplishments and many downfalls that was actually for the best. My life motto is “everything happens for a reason.” The prompts for 2019 included highlights and accomplishments to be proud of – to what worked in 2019 and what didn’t work in 2019, what did I learn in 2019, how did my life evolve in 2019, and who made a difference in my life in 2019 and why?
After capturing all of 2019, I turn the page to say Hello, 2020. Lavendaire is so right that right now, on 1/1/2020, this is such an exciting time, because anything can happen.
My theme for 2020 is “freedom” because I want my pure form to feel and be free. I want to be myself, I want to live life for me, I don’t want to be afraid to be me. I want to feel in 2020 to be motivated, fearless, positive, and in control of my life and decisions. I want to invite into my life: time to not be an issue, and passion for driving my actions. In 2020 I am going to let go of the variety of external pressures and waiting on other people or situations.
In exactly one year from now, I will be free and balanced. Because “designing a beautiful life begins with self-love. Self-love breeds confidence, self-worth, self-respect, self-forgiveness.” I will not underestimate its power in 2020.
Goodbye 2019. Hello 2019! 🌅
